About the journal

Aims & Scope

Research at the intersection of therapeutic science and clinical practice.

Our aim

Evidence with a path to care

IJMTCS aims to bring together rigorous clinical, pharmaceutical and translational research that helps explain how treatments are developed, evaluated, used and improved. Its central interest is evidence that informs therapeutic decisions, patient outcomes, or the quality and safety of clinical care.

Areas of interest

Research within the journal's scope

The following areas describe the journal's intended editorial coverage. Work that connects more than one area is also relevant.

Therapeutics & pharmacology

Medicines, treatment strategies, dosing, effectiveness, safety and therapeutic outcomes, including clinical and applied pharmacology.

Clinical medicine & oncology

Clinical research that informs diagnosis, treatment selection and patient management, including cancer care and other clinical specialties.

Clinical pharmacy & medicines use

Pharmaceutical care, medication optimisation, adherence, pharmacovigilance, drug interactions and the use of medicines in practice.

Pharmaceutical & translational sciences

Pharmaceutics, drug delivery, pharmaceutical technology, medicinal chemistry and drug design where the work has a clear therapeutic or clinical connection.

Patient outcomes & care delivery

Patient-reported outcomes, supportive care, health economics, treatment access and health services research related to therapeutic or clinical decisions.

Editorial relevance

What connects a study to IJMTCS?

A paper should make its therapeutic or clinical question clear, describe its methods and limitations transparently, and explain what the findings add to the understanding of treatment or care. For laboratory and formulation research, the link to medicines development or clinical application should be explicit.
